Atlantic CouncilThe Atlantic Council’s South Asia Center invites you to a discussion on author Bharat Karnad’s recently published book ‘Staggering Forward: Narendra Modi and India’s Global Ambition‘, released on August 29, 2018. Analyzing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s foreign and military policies in the context of India’s socio-political and economic milieu which has evolved in the new Century, this book offers a critical perspective that helps to understand the country’s present national security strategy, as seen through the twin-prisms of strongman-alpha male power politics that’s all the rage now featuring, other than the Indian prime minister, Trump, Putin, Xi, Erdogan and Shinzo Abe, and of the impact of Modi’s persona on India’s politics and policy-making.
The discussion will be held October 4, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Atlantic Council, followed by a reception. The event is open to press and on the record.
